Project List Commands

The following table lists command descriptions. Different commands are available, depending on the tab selected in Project View. For more details, click the command.

Projects

Description

Create Project

Opens a drop down list, where you can select:

  • Create Project - Opens the Create Project window where you can create any project that is be sent to production.

  • Create Bid - Opens the Create Bid window where you can start a new bid project that may or may not be awarded as an order.

  • Create Master Project - Opens the Create Master Project window where you can create larger scale projects comprised of multiple plans and elevations.

  • Create Change Order - Opens the Create Change Order window where you can change any project that incurs revisions.

Convert a Bid to a Project

Opens the Convert a Bid To Project window where you can convert a bid to a project, when a bid is awarded.

Create Project From Design Data

Opens the Explorer window where you can export Truss Studio Design Data Packages.

Delete Project

Displays the following warning:

If you continue the project and all associated files will be removed forever! If other users have this project Checked Out for View, it will be removed from their systems too.

Are you sure you want to continue?

Clicking Yes permanently removes all files and database entries associated with a bid, project, master project, or change order.

Open Project Opens the Open Project dialog where you can search by project name or number. As you type, a list of options displays.

Description

Check Out Project - Edit

Opens the Check out window where you can pull down project files and information to your local system for viewing or editing.

Check In Project

Opens the Check In window where you can save changes made to the project while it was checked out to the client, so that additional users can receive the latest project information. It's important to check in projects at the end of each day.

Check In Multiple

Opens the Check in Multiple Projects window where you can save changes made to multiple projects while they were checked out to the client, so that additional users can receive the latest project information.

Synchronize to Server

Updates the selected project on the server with the most current project data from the client.

Refresh

Updates all project data on a client's project list with the most current information available on the server.

Release and Discard Project

Release Project / Release Multiple

Opens the Release window where you can remove a project from the client without updating the server.

Release Project / Release Multiple

Opens the Release window where you can remove multiple projects from the client without updating the server.

Project Storage, Material, and Communication

Description

Export Design Data Package

Opens the Export Project window where you can export Truss Studio Design Data Packages.

Import Design Data Package

Opens Windows Explorer where you can import Truss Studio Design Data packages (.DDP).

Material Catalog Setup Commands

Opens the Material Catalog Setup window where you can access an inventory of materials that is to be used for projects. A material catalog holds information about specific materials for the project, as well as its pricing.

Project List

Description

Project Filter

Opens the Project Filter drop down menu where you can create named filters that can be applied to the project list.

Find Project

Opens the Find Project window where you can search for a specific project.

Enable Editing

Allows you to modify project information from the project list dashboard without having to enter the project.

Print

Opens the Print window where you can generate a printout of the current Project List view.

Print Preview

Opens the Print Preview window where you can display a preview of the current Project List view and select parameters before printing.

History

Pricing

Description

Recalculate Pricing

Opens the Recalculate dialog where you can reset unlocked values back to their original value. You can also unlock and reset Totals and Markups by selecting the appropriate checkbox.

Lock Edits

Locks any edits made to pricing values.

Tasks

Adjust Est. Start Dates

Displays calendar where you can adjust estimated start dates

Show Components

Enabled when a Lot Level task is selected on the Tasks grid. Opens a dialog with a list of the trusses associated with the task.

Description

Rebuild Tasks from Defaults

Updates tasks in existing projects to match new tasks and tracking level edits in Admin > Task/Status tab. Existing projects on the calendar may be updated to use Plan and Lot level task. Note: This function replaces all existing tasks with the current default tasks. All existing task data will be permanently lost.

Convert Tasks

Converts all tasks to project level. Disabled when project contains lots or more than one plan.

Some small projects may require only one delivery. Typcially, these projects will not use the Deliveries tab > Lots feature. For these projects, all tasks can be converted to project level so that lots do not need to be created to display Lot Level tasks.
