Export Design Data Package

Purpose

Use Export Design Data Package to export the following Truss Studio Design Data Packages:

  • Layout files (elevations)
  • Truss files (components)
  • Project materials
  • Project presets

Design Data Packages remain valid across database versions.

Prerequisites

  • A project must exist and be checked out for edit.
  • Design Data Packages are available only for Truss Studio projects.

Steps

To export a Design Data Package:

From Project List

  1. From the main CS Director window, select Project List.
  2. Select a project in the Project List.

Or

From Project Info

  1. From the main CS Director window, select Project List.
  2. Double click a project in the Project List and the Project Info displays.
  1. Click Export Design Data Package.


  1. Select the plans and components to include.

Note: If trusses have been assigned to releases, as shown below, you can select plans and elevations to export on the Releases tab.

Note: Items not currently in plans indicates trusses created outside of plans/elevations.

  1. To automatically attach the Design Data Package to your default email application, select Open email with attachment upon completion.
  2. Click Continue to define the location for the exported project to be saved.

  1. Click Save to finalize the file path.
  2. Click Export and a file is created with the extension .proj.

The .ddp file contains all project files and database information that pertain to the project.
