Release Project / Release Multiple

Client/Server Mode

Purpose

Use Release Project/Release Multiple to remove one or more projects from the client without updating the server. After releasing a project, the project is unlocked and can be checked out by other users.

When using Release Project, data saved only to the client does not update the server, abandoning any unsynchronized client data.

Warning - If you use this command to remove a project from the client, without updating the server, all of your data is lost.

Prerequisites

  • Must be operating CS Director in Client/Server mode.
  • Project must be checked out to a client and exist on the server.
  • Client must be connected to the server.

Steps

To release a project:

  1. From the main CS Director window, select Project List .
  2. Select a project from the Project List that is checked out to the current client.

Only projects checked out to the current client can be released. To check out a project that is checked out by another client see, Check Out Project - Edit .

  1. Click Release Project.

  1. To discard changes and remove the local copy of the project, click OK.

Confirm the removal of the local project data from the client without updating the server.

  1. Click OK.
