Saw, Table, Station Scheme Setup Field Descriptions

Summary

Open the Preset ManagerSaws/Tables window to set up and revise saw and table settings, default piece sorting parameters, and station schemes.

You can also access the Saws and Tables window, from the Tools > Batch Process command. From the Batch processing window, click Open Saw and Table Setup.

Before adding saws and tables, you must first set up the station scheme.

Field Descriptions

The following table lists field descriptions.

Description

Fabrication > Saw and Table Setup

Saws are used to cut the lumber for trusses. Tables are where the saws are located. Saws and tables display in the order for which you want the lumber cut. For example, in the above figure, first the lumber is sent to the saw labeled, Chords. Whatever pieces are not cut by the Chords saw, are sent to the Webs saw. This continues until the last pieces are cut by the catchall saw at the bottom which is labeled, Default Saw.

Click to add a new saw.

 

 

Click to add a new table.

Station scheme is an assembly of Saw and Table stations that determine the order in which pieces are cut and trusses are assembled for a single batch.

 

A default station scheme is set up when Director is first installed. You can also, select alternate schemes.

 

To rename the station scheme, click the field and enter a new name.

 

For details on how Saw/Table scheme works with batching, see Batch Processing.

Click to add a new station scheme. Change the default name as needed.

Click to copy the selected station scheme. Change the default name as needed.

Ability to import saw/table schemes into another database.

Ability to export saw/table schemes.

Click to delete the selected station scheme. From the Confirm window, click Yes to delete, or No, if not.

Fabrication > Default Piece Sorting

Displays the default piece sorting criteria for a newly added saw. For details, see Default Piece Sorting and Sorting by Saw.

Accessing

1.  In the main Project List window, select Tools.

2.  Select Saws/Tables.

3.  In the Preset Manager > Saw and Table Setup, complete saw, table and station scheme tasks as needed.

4.  In the Preset Manager > Default Piece Sorting, select and unselect sort criteria as needed.
