Saw Station Settings: File Settings

Summary

Open the Preset Manager > Saws/Tables window to set up and revise saw station settings for file settings. File settings let you define the folder and file names for your saw outputs.

Field Descriptions

The following table lists field descriptions.

Section/Field

Description

File Type

Select the type of file. For example, *.omn for Omni saw. The file type is linked to the selected Saw Type assigned in the Saw Properties.

File Path

Select the path for where the file is saved. File path attributes automatically create a folder, if one does not exist for depositing the truss files.

Drag and drop attributes to the right to add to file path

Select attributes to add to the file path. The number of saw files produced during a batch are determined by the saw file attributes.

File Name

Name of saw file

Drag and drop attributes to the right to add to file name

Select attributes to add to the file name. This lets you add more information to the file name. Adding more attributes also creates more files:

  • Date
  • Lot
  • Plan-Elevation
  • Production Group
  • Project Name
  • Project Number
  • Station
  • Time
  • Truss

New Line Per Truss

Use this option if you are consolidating pieces across multiple trusses, but do not want them consolidated to the same line in the saw file.

New Line Per Unique Piece

Use this option if you are consolidating pieces across trusses but want to individually list the pieces in the saw file.

Accessing

1.  In the main Project List window, select Tools.

2.  Select Saws/Tables.

3.  In the Preset Manager, click to add a new saw or click to revise an existing saw.

4.  Revise the File Settings information.

5.  Click Close.
