Saw Station Settings: Piece Count Properties, Piece Types, and Piece Label Options

Summary

Open the Preset Manager > Saws/Tables window to set up and revise saw station settings for piece count properties, piece types, and piece label options.

Note: In order to match Truss Studio board labels, you must set the Piece Label option to Studio Cutting.

Field Descriptions

The following table lists field descriptions.

Section/Field

Description

Piece Count Properties

Number of like pieces that can be cut by the saw.

Min Piece Counts

Enter the minimum number of like pieces to be cut at the same time.

Max Piece Counts

Enter the maximum number of like pieces to be cut at the same time. The maximum number of piece counts can be up to 99,999.

Piece Types

Types of pieces that can be cut by the saw.

Piece Types

Select the following piece types.

  • Top chords
  • Bottom chords
  • Stacked chords
  • Webs
  • Gables
  • Sliders
  • Wedges
  • Scabs
  • Non-structural pieces

Piece Label Options

Options to add suffixes to the piece label within the saw file, separate from the label assigned to the piece on the assembly drawing.

Drag and drop attributes to the right to add to the piece label

Select attributes to add to the piece label:

  • Batch Label
  • Individual Label
  • Truss Label
  • Batch Quantity
  • Individual Quantity
  • Piece and Truss
  • Studio Cutting

 

Accessing

1.  In the main Project List window, select Tools.

2.  Select Saws/Tables.

3.  In the Preset Manager, click to add a new saw or click to revise an existing saw.

4.  Revise the Piece Count Properties, Piece Types, and/or Piece Label Options information.

5.  Click Save or Save and Close.
