Tasks Tab Functionality

Grouping by column

With many plans and lots in a project, each with their own statuses, the Tasks tab may contain a lot of information. Grouping the information by column headers can help focus on critical information.

  • Group by Association places all of the tasks for a given item (Project level, individual Plans or individual Lots) together.

  • Group by Task places all the same task records for each item together.

  • In addition to the grouping, columns are sorted using a multi-column sort.

  • Referencing the screen below, after grouping by the Task column:

    1. Click Seq ID column to arrange all tasks in sequence order.

    1. While pressing Shift , click on Association column to sort items in that column alphabetically.

      • Up to three columns can be used in a multi-column sort.

Manually Adding a Task

  • You can manually add tasks that are not required and, therefore, not automatically added to projects; one example is Field Repair.

  • If any task (at any level) is repeated in a given project, another instance of the task can be manually added:

    • From the Change Status dialog

    • From inside the project on the Task tab, by right-clicking and selecting Add Item

Rebuild Tasks from Defaults function

To update tasks on existing projects to match new tasks and tracking level edits in the Admin > Task/Status tab:

  • Rebuild Tasks from Defaults function can be used to quickly make the update.

  • This function replaces all existing tasks with the current default tasks. All existing task data will be permanently lost. The following warning displays:

Convert Tasks function

Single Delivery Projects

  • Some small projects may require only one delivery; typically, these projects will not use the Deliveries tab > Lots feature.

  • For these projects, all tasks can be converted to project level so that lots do not need to be created to display Lot Level tasks.

  • The Convert Tasks (to Project Level) button is available in any project that does not already have Lots or more than one plan.

    • Selecting this button converts all existing tasks to project-level and adds all current lot-level tasks as project-level tasks.
