Check for Obsolete Plates

Purpose

Check for obsolete plates in material catalogs and projects.

Prerequisites

A material catalog must exist.

Steps

To check for obsolete plates:

  1. From the main CS Director window, select Project List.
  2. Click Material Catalogs.


  1. Select Selection & Costing under the Plates section.

    The Material Catalog Setup toolbar displays.

  2. Click Check for Obsolete.

If obsolete plates are found:

  • Projects: These plates are still valid in projects as long as there is existing inventory to support production.

  • Material Catalogs: The plates should be considered for removal from the Material Catalog, based on existing inventory. You will not be able to order more of these plates from Simpson.

Auto-Check for Obsolete Plates

Enabling this setting displays a warning about obsolete plates every time you open a material catalog/project:

The auto-check process for obsolete plates can be turned on/off with the following setting in CSDirector.exe.config:

  • Install folder > Client > Director > CSDirector.exe.config

  • <add key="CheckForObsolete" value="on" />
