Title: Design a Highly Resilient Steel Structure - Part 1
Date: Thursday, May 25, 2023
Time: 11:00 AM PT
Duration: 1 Hour

This webinar has already taken place. A recording of the webinar will be available here, typically within one day.

Summary

Join us for part one of a three-part webinar series on the latest design solutions for structural steel buildings using braced frame connections to resist wind and seismic forces.

This first webinar being held on May 25 will cover some of the biggest challenges that fabricators, engineers, and contractors in the structural steel industry face when designing braced frame connections. We will discuss innovative solutions such as all-bolted connections that simplify design work and eliminate the need for any field welding, helping ensure a highly resilient steel structure, improve safety, and reduce overall project schedules and costs.

NOTE: The webinar presentation will be one hour long. Q&A will follow for an additional 30 minutes.

Join Tim Ellis, business development manager and Mary Nunneley, research and development engineer for a one-hour webinar, plus a live Q&A session, where you’ll discover new solutions for braced frame connections and how they can maximize efficiency and resiliency throughout the construction process.

As a result of attending this webinar, you should be able to:

  • Describe industry and market needs and drivers
  • Explain the various types of brace frames and their uses
  • Design safe, reliable brace frames for a wide variety of uses
  • Incorporate brace frames that prevent building collapse during a major event
Continuing education credits will be offered for this webinar. Participants can earn one professional development hour (PDH) for attending the first hour of the webinar. Contact training@strongtie.com with any questions.
