Many Simpson Strong-Tie courses have been approved for continuing education credits by the Office of Education and Data Management (OEDM). You must score at least 80% on the assessment in order to pass the class and earn credit. To receive OEDM continuing education credits, you must have entered your OEDM ID number (first three letters of last name – last four digits of SSN) in your Simpson Strong-Tie profile. It is the code official’s responsibility to self-report credits by completing the OEDM “Outside Credit Application” form attached to your Simpson Strong-Tie certificate, and submitting the form and your certificate to OEDM. Only individuals credentialed through OEDM are required to submit the outside credit application. Please retain your Simpson Strong-Tie Completion Certificate for your records. CT Building Code Enforcement Officials are only permitted to take the same course once per training cycle. Code Modification: While the Connecticut State Building Code is based on the 2012 International Code Council (ICC) family of codes, many Simpson Strong-Tie training courses reference the 2015 codes. Numerous designers and contractors are using the 2015 codes; however, they must get a modification from the Office of the State Building Inspector (OSBI) to do so. Additional information and the Modification Form can be found at the OSBI website.
