Dimension settings

Dimension settings let you enable/disable automatic dimensions for walls, cantilevers, and overhangs, as well as define dimension text size on a layout.

Access these settings via Env Data > Layout Settings > Dimensions. See Using Dimensioning Tools and Define Dimension Settings for more information.

Field Descriptions

Setting	Description
Automatic dimension walls?	Determines whether wall dimension appears
Do not dimension walls less than …	Values below specified value do not receive a dimension
Automatic dimension cants?	When cantilever values are applied on wall, this setting allows them to receive an automatic dimension
Automatic dimension overhangs?	When overhang values are applied on wall, this setting allows them to receive an automatic dimension
Dimension odd spaced trusses from end wall?	When set to True, you can create dimensions for odd spaced trusses from the end wall.
Auto/Manual/Spacing
Use Architectural Dimension?	When set to False, dimensions display as ff-ii-ss; when True, architectural dimensions display as feet-inches-fractions. For example, architectural dimensions display as 11'-7 1/2" rather than 11-7-8.
Line Type	Line type for dimension; select Solid, Dashed, or Dotted,
Line Weight	Line weight for dimension; select Bold, Light, or Medium.
Text Angle	Enter a numeric value for the angle.
Text Position (along line)	Define text position when dimensions is along a line. Select Center, LeftOutside, LeftInside, RightOutside, or RightInside.
Text Position (perp to line)	Define text position when dimensions is perpendicular to a line. Select Above, Inline, or Below.
Left End Marker	Define left end marker for dimension. Select ArrowIn, ArrowOut, Cross, None, Tick, TickTop, or TickBottom.
Right End Marker	Define right end marker for dimension. Select ArrowIn, ArrowOut, Cross, None, Tick, TickTop, or TickBottom.
Leader % to Object	Adjusts the length of the dimension leader line in relationship to the dimensioned object. The default = 0.
Left End Marker Size	Define a size for the end marker.
Right End Marker Size	Define a size for the end marker.
