Yes! Simpson Strong-Tie is an Accredited Provider of IACET CEUs. Qualified professionals may be awarded CEUs for attending a Simpson Strong-Tie workshop. See the individual workshop descriptions or Continuing Education Credit page for more information.
Yes! You must pass a test to earn IACET CEUs to verify learning transfer. Please contact your certifying licensing organization or agency directly to inquire if they accept CEUs from IACET accredited providers.
The awarding of the Continuing Education Unit (CEU) is a recognized method of quantifying participation in an organized continuing education experience under responsible sponsorship, capable direction, and qualified instruction. One CEU is defined as ten contact hours of time spent in such an educational experience. A typical full day workshop usually offers 0.7 CEUs which is equal to 7 contact hours.
10 hours = 1.0 CEU
7 hours = 0.7 CEUs
One hour = 0.1 CEUs
Yes! Simpson offers PDHs for all of our events.
No! There is no test required to earn PDHs for our instructor led events.
Note: Please contact your certifying licensing organization or agency directly to inquire if they accept PDHs for continuing education credits.
Yes! Simpson Strong-Tie is an approved provider of AIA LUs.
For online courses, a test must be taken and passed with a score of 80% in order to receive AIA HSW LUs.
Some of our live workshops are also approved for HSW LUs. No test is required in order to receive HSW LUs for approved instructor led classes.
No! As long as your AIA member number is entered into your profile in the Simpson Training Center in the AIA member number field, Simpson will report your credit information to the AIA CES. For instructor led classes, you must attend 100% of the approved class. Simpson Strong-Tie will report credits earned normally within the first week of the following month.
No! If you report your credit information for one of Simpson Strong-Tie’s approved HSW courses to the AIA CES, the credit information will not be accepted. Simpson Strong-Tie must report your credit information on your behalf for any Simpson Strong-Tie HSW approved course.
Yes! You can self-report non AIA approved courses/classes for general LUs.
No! AIA members are only permitted to take the same course once every three years for AIA LUs.
Yes! Please enter your ICC member number in your Simpson profile in the ICC ID field if you would like your ICC credit information to show on your certificates of attendance or completion.
No! But you must be in attendance for 100% of the time the class is in session and sign in and out on the class roster sheet.
Yes! You must pass the test associated with the online course that you take with a score of 80% or better.

Yes. Some of our online courses are approved by the Office of Education and Data Management (OEDM). Please check the course detail to verify that OEDM Credits are offered.
Yes! You must complete the OEDM “Outside Credit Application” form and submit the form and your Simpson Strong-Tie certificate to OEDM; only individuals credentialed through OEDM are required to submit the outside credit application.
The OEDM “Outside Credit Application” can be found on the OEDM website. Additionally, for your convenience, a link has been added to the second page of the completion certificate that will take you to where the “Outside Credit Applications” is located once you pass an approved course.
Yes! If you do not enter your CTID in your Simpson Strong-Tie profile, it will not show up on your certificate and you will not get credit for any OEDM-approved online course that you take.

Yes! Some of our courses are approved by the NY Department of State (DOS). Click on this link to enter our NY Training Center.
Yes! If you do not enter your NYID number in your Simpson Strong-Tie profile, it will not show up on your certificate and Simpson will not be able to report your In-service credits to the NY DOS.
Yes! You may take the same approved course each year for credit.

No! It is your responsibility to self-report your credits to the OH Board of Building Standards. Please retain your Completion Certificate for your records.

Yes! Some of our online courses are approved by the Oregon State Construction Contractors Board (CCB) for continuing education credits. Click on this link to enter our Oregon Training Center.
Yes! If you do not enter your OR CCB ID number in your Simpson Strong-Tie profile, it will not show up on your certificate and Simpson will not be able to report your credits to the OR CCB.
Simpson will report your credits to the Oregon CCB around the 1st and the 15th day of the following month that the course was completed. Please allow an additional 1-2 business days for the CCB to enter your credit information into your transcript.

Yes! Some of our online courses can be submitted to the State of New Jersey for continuing education credits for PEs.

An attended status means that the participant has met the attendance requirements for a workshop and has been awarded Professional Development Hours (PDHs) for the quantity of contact hours that were offered for that workshop.
A passed status means that the participant has met the workshop completion requirements and passed the online assessment associated with a learning event. Participants that receive a passed status have been awarded the quantity of CEUs that were offered for that event.
This participant has self-enrolled in a scheduled class which has not yet taken place.
This participant has been enrolled by a Simpson training representative for a class which has not yet taken place.
This participant failed to meet one or more of the attendance requirements outlined in our IACET Program Completion Requirement Policy.
This participant has cancelled from a class in which they were previously enrolled.
Absolutely! We have no limits, other than first come first served by registration only.
